Robyn Freedman
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Robyn Freedman grew up in the motion picture industry and was influenced at an early age by cinematic imagery and its emotive qualities. Her paintings and drawings combine this sensibility with her love for the natural world, reflecting her connection to land, sea and sky and her nostalgia for places both real and imaginary.
Following college, Freedman first pursued a path towards filmmaking and worked in the television and film industry for several years. She later embarked on a twenty-year career as an attorney representing artists, art galleries and nonprofit arts organizations in San Francisco, including an adjunct law professorship at Golden Gate University School of Law, teaching Art and the Law.
Freedman eventually left her law practice to pursue her passion to make art and cultivated an arts education with the guidance of established artists in oil painting and drawing. Now a full-time artist, Freedman works in her home studio in Woodside, California where she resides with her husband and two children.
